Real or Fake?
Show it a face and a model I trained guesses whether a person or an AI made it. It runs right here in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.

You can also paste one. Close-ups of a single face work best.

Good to know
- It was trained on close-up faces. Group shots, landscapes or screenshots confuse it, so frame one face.
- It learned from face swaps in older, low-resolution photos. I trained it to ignore blur, sharpness and compression, but filters and beauty modes can still fool it.
- It got about 91% right on 10,000 faces it had never seen.
- It makes mistakes both ways. About 1 in 10 fakes slip past as real, and about 1 in 14 real faces get called AI-made.
- It is a coursework project, not a forensic tool. Please do not use it to judge real people.
Under the hood: EfficientNet-B0, fine-tuned in PyTorch on 20,000 real and face-swapped faces, each randomly blurred, sharpened, compressed and recoloured so it learns the face and not the photo quality. Exported to run in the browser with ONNX Runtime Web.
